Highlights of the February Board of Directors Meeting

The only real interesting items at the February Board meeting were: (1) The approval by the board of the June Road Race budget. (2) The vote of the board to decline acceptance of the mandated District/International policy on sexual harassment with respect to exchange students. This means the club will no be able to participate in the Student Exchange program next year. (3) Preliminary results of the Super Bowl Brunch which showed that the club did not sell enough tickets and every extra ticket sold would have been clear profit for the club’s bank account. After the event was paid for and since we had food left over, every ticket sale would have been clear profit. (4) The approval of two new members.

June 23: Passing of the Gavel. After this evening, you will rid of me! Please try to attend, or, I might stay on!!

Upcoming Decision that needs to be made

We need to evaluate the potential benefit of participating in the Nashua West Rib Fest. This activity would be a fund raiser and would be on the same weekend as our Road Race.

"PRO" points.

We stand to make a good return on investment.

We don’t have to solicit sponsors.

We don’t have to sell tickets.

We don’t need a 100% participation from the club members.

"CON" Points

We are selling a product we have not dealt with before. (Hot Dogs)

We need to purchase "stock" and some one time purchases of equipment.

We need to work shifts, Friday, Saturday and Sunday as well as set up on Thursday, the same night as our Road Race.

Our first year profit is only a guestimate.

Ron DeBlois will do an evaluation and a decision needs to be made at the March Club Assembly by the entire membership.
